The Digamber Kamat government seemed to be heading for a showdown with the Supreme court over the Cidade ordinance.

Inspite of being warned by the Attorney General Advt Subodh Kantak and other legal advisors the Government did not deem it necessary to get the ordianace retified by the President and decided to pass it in such haste that it leaves nothing but suspicion in the minds of the Aam admi.

Advt Norma Alvares of Goa Foundations has rightly termed the Governments move as a slap in the face of the Supreme court today in a tit for tat move the Supreme court has thrown a spanner in the works by restricting the Government from passing an ordinance in the current assembly session.
